Making a PDf can save a lot of the hassle that people often get when they try to print certain types of files, e.g. Word documents. More information can be found on the Make a PDF page.
You can bring electronic files to us in a number of ways:
- USB Flash memory devices
- CD & DVD ROM
- Flash cards - SD, xD, MemoryStick (incl. Pro & Duo), CompactFlash, SmartMedia, MMC, Microdrive, MagicSTOR
- Bluetooth - transfer files from your laptop, PDA or other Bluetooth-equipped device
- Zip 100MB or 250MB disk
- LS120 disk - we also have a USB drive that can be plugged into your laptop to allow transfer of files up to 120MB
- 3.5" floppy disk - please note that floppy disks are unreliable and we do not recommend their use. If you must use them, we would advise you to make more than one copy.
We currently have wifi available on a trial basis to enable you to print direct from your laptop. As this service is experimental and does require some setting up before you can print, please have a back-up plan ready. Needless to say, it is somewhat easier with a Mac...
Please see this list for the programs that we can print from.
